Town of Williamson Landfill
Kenyon Energy was chosen to develop this large-scale solar project on top of a closed landfill in Williamson, NY that had not been used for 20+ years. The project is the largest solar installation in the Rochester region and one of the largest in the state of New York. The PPA is structured to ensure that over its 25-year life, solar power is price competitive with all other fuel sources and will generate savings for town operations — the town hall, the highway garage, and the town water and wastewater treatment plants. This project commenced commercial operations in December 2014.
